  • John McCormack Centre, Carfin on 27 & 28 July
  • and Airdrie Academy, Airdrie on 1 & 2 August

It is very important that each dancer that has been specially picked to take part in this very exciting performance, can commit to the following rehearsal dates:

  • Wednesday 27 July 10.00-1.00pm
  • Thursday 28 July 10.00-1.00pm
  • Monday 1 August Registration 11.45
  • Tuesday 2 August Rehearsal 12.00-3.00pm
  • Wednesday 3 August Dress rehearsal at Fir Park Stadium, Motherwell
    • Drop off Point – Our Lady’s High School,M/well, 5pm
    • Collection – Our Lady’s High School, M/well, 8.45pm
  • Thursday 4 August Opening Ceremony, Evening Performance
    • Drop off Point – Our Lady’s High School, M/well, 6pm
    • Collection – Our Lady’s High School, M/well, 9.15pm (approx)

The Highland dancers will be housed in cafe 2 area and will be closely chaperoned and escorted to and from the stadium. All parents who have not already done so, will be required to fill in consent forms when they drop their children off at dress rehearsal. Unfortunately no parents will be allowed to stay in the school.

The performers should wear their kilt, hose and pumps and will be issued with a Games T/Shirt and two tickets at Dress Rehearsal.

We are hosting a First Aid course with emphasis on sports / dance injuries on Sunday 1st May Saturday 2nd July at the SDTA Studios.
The cost is £50 per person.
Completed course gains the participent a recognised First Aid Certificate.
There are only 8 places available so please contact the Office before Friday 22nd April to book and pay.

Lauren Hair

After much hard work Lauren Hair(16) of Le Dance Studio has successfully made it to the live semi-finals of ‘Got to Dance 2011′.

She will appear in the live programme on Sky 1 on Sunday 13th February 2011 at 6pm and will perform a contemporary routine.

Lauren is enjoying a fantastic support from all her friends, family and fellow dancers at Le Dance Studio and would appreciate any support you and your pupils can also give.

It would be fantastic if you could show support for Lauren by voting for her on Sunday to help her achieve her goal of making it to the Live Finals at the end of February.

Mr Billy Forsyth informed the SOBHD he is in discussions with Disneyland Paris to hold a Scottish Festival of Dance in October 2011.
This is an opportunity for dance teachers to showcase their school at a one-off special event next year.
Dancers will have the honour of marching in the pre-parade through Disneyland Paris with all their favourite Disney characters.
Details have yet to be finalised and further information will be posted to the website when available.

We will rearrange it for a date in the New Year but due to the safety of the dancers travelling from all over Scotland we thought it best to postpone it.
